The formula for the calculation of time loss is the following: TC = Time to Control (leg time between two controls) BTC = Best Time to Control (best time to a control from all runners in the class) FTR = Finish Time of the Runner (total running time of the runner) PCT = Perfect Course Time (total course time summing all the BTC for each leg/control) TLC = Time Loss to Control TR (Time Ratio) = FTR / PCT (this sets the level of the runner performance compared to the best times of the course) To calculate the TLC in each control: If TC > BTC * TR, then TLC = TC - (BTC * TR) TTL = Total Time Loss of a runner = sum of all controls TLC for that runner. After a first calculation of TTL a second calculation of TTL is executed with new value adjusted for TR. TRA (Time Ratio Adjusted) = (FTR-TTL) / PCT . Then again to calculate the TLCA (TLC Adjusted) in each control: If TC > BTC * TRA, then TLCA = TC - (BTC * TRA) TTLA = Total Time Loss Adjusted of a runner = sum of all controls TLCA for that runner. |
